Classic Tour
Gonjače – Šmartno – Dobrovo
Join this tour to visit the observation tower in Gonjače, the medieval village of Šmartno, and the Dobrovo castle. These three magnificent landmarks coupled with wine tasting and lunch at the Klet Brda Winery will make for an unforgettable experience.
We will start the tour at the Gonjače observation tower to enjoy the spectacular views of the magical Brda hills, nestled between the Alpes and the Adriatic Sea. We will stroll through the narrow streets of the medieval Šmartno, visit local attractions, and admire the town’s distinct architecture. After visiting the late Renaissance castle in Dobrovo, home to the Zoran Mušič gallery and the museum collection of Count de Baguer, a walk through a vineyard and an orchid will lead us to the Klet Brda Winery, the leading producer and exporter of Slovenian wines. Before parting ways, we will take you on a guided tour of the cellar, during which you will be able to taste the finest Brda wines and enjoy a typical Brda lunch.
Heritage Tour
Sabotin – Šmartno – Winery – Gradno
In joining this tour, you will discover everything from the caverns of the Mt Sabotin to the art of Zoran Mušič and Lojze Spacal. Beside the rich natural and cultural heritage of Brda you will also enjoy the exquisite Brda wines and local cuisine.
Mt Sabotin, one of the battlefields of the Isonzo Front, is now home to the Sabotin Peace Park, offering a variety of natural and historical landmarks. Here, we will search for the hidden caverns, explore the local fauna and flora, and admire the breath-taking views. After a warm meal, we will continue our tour in the medieval village of Šmartno, characterised by its narrow alleys and unique architecture. We will visit Klet Brda, the leading producer and exporter of Slovenian wines, and enjoy a guided wine tasting with refreshments. From there, we will move on to the village of Gradno and visit its St. George church to admire the works of two renowned Slovenian painters, Zoran Mušič and Lojze Spacal. We will end our tour with a late lunch at a tourist farm with authentic Brda cuisine.
Hiking Tour
Kojsko – Gonjače –Šmartno – Biljana – Klet Brda
The hiking tour around Brda is perfect for anyone who wants to combine pleasure with fitness. From Kojsko, we will walk through the vineyards and orchids to Šmartno and Biljana. At the end of the day, we will stop at the winery to rest and enjoy in some excellent wine and culinary specialties.
Join us on this tour if you wish to explore Brda and discover the local culinary specialties in an active way. Starting our hike in Kojsko, we will visit the church of the Holy Cross to admire its gothic altar. A walk through vineyards and orchids will then lead us to Gonjače, where we will climb the observation tower to take in the breath-taking views of Brda, stretching all the way from the Alpes to the Adriatic Sea, Karst, and the Friuli region. After that, we will stroll through the narrow streets of the medieval village of Šmartno and stop for a snack, before heading to Biljana, the mistical village that houses the church of St. Michael. Our final stop will be the Klet Brda Winery, where we will enjoy a guided wine tasting and a typical Brda lunch.
Brda harvest
Gonjače – Šmartno – Harvest – Klet Brda
Join us and our winegrowing families in experiencing the harvest, or as we call it “vandima”. Together, we will explore the beauty of Brda and enjoy in the delicacies of our winery.
There is nothing better than smelling the invigorating aroma of ripe grapes, admiring the warm colours of the vineyards in autumn, and enjoying the nature in a friendly company. To start our day, we will climb the Gonjače observation tower to appreciate the spectacular views stretching all the way from the Julian Alps to the Adriatic Sea. After a stroll through the medieval village of Šmartno, we will join the harvesters in the nearby vineyard. While picking the grapes, we will get to know the winegrowers and learn about the early stages of wine making. The tour will end with a guided wine tasting and a traditional lunch at the Klet Brda Winery.
